Las Vegas Natural History Museum
Volunteers play an essential role in the Museum's mission of educating the public in the natural sciences. You can bring a smile to a child's face, a look of understanding from an inquiring adult, and a nod of appreciation from a foreign visitor.
The Museum invites energetic and friendly "people persons" to join our team. Communication skills, smiles, and dependability are a necessity, as well as a desire to heighten our visitor’s experiences. A background in anthropology, education, geology/paleontology, or zoology is helpful, but not required. Interest, enthusiasm, and commitment are a must. Our volunteer opportunities are great for seniors, retired teachers, or anyone who has the time and interest to volunteer.
Benefits of volunteering at the Museum include: learning new skills, meeting people with similar interests, enriching the experiences of visitors of all ages and backgrounds, and contributing to one of Las Vegas' finest educational institutions.

CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES
Tour Guide
Our Tour Guides lead school children on educational tours of the Museum. These tours are scheduled in advance and volunteers can choose a schedule that suits them. All tour are on weekday mornings at 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Training is provided.
Traveling Exhibits Crew
The Museum presents traveling exhibits as often as possible. Putting them up and taking them down is usually an extensive job, and we need people to help with these projects. If you are fairly strong, don't mind getting somewhat dirty and can work on weekdays occasionally, this may be for you. It's hard work, but usually fun.
Special Events Associate
Help out at special events both at the Museum and out and about in town. You will be contacted with the upcoming schedule of events and may choose which ones suit your interests and schedule.
Events range from mass mailing preparation to outreaches presenting information about wildlife or the Museum to the public at special events located in places such as shopping centers and parks.
